Purmamarca Argentina

Purmamarca is a town located in the Tumbaya Department of the Jujuy Province in Argentina. In 2003, the Quebrada de Humahuaca was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which has increased both national and international tourism interest in the area. The town's colonial style and the Cerro de Siete Colores, along with a growing yet limited number of lodging options, make it an appealing destination for tourists visiting the northern part of Argentina. The majority of the town's economic activities are tied to tourism, including the production of local handicrafts that are sold in the main plaza's market, as well as lodging and tours. The city's attractions include the aforementioned Cerro de los Siete Colores and the local handicraft market. Purmamarca also serves as a starting point for various treks such as the Paseo de los Colorados and Purmamarca River, and tours to Salinas Grandes, the Huachichocana archaeological site, and the Laguna de Guayatayoc, which is home to pink flamingos and wild geese.
